When things around us feel like they are getting out of our control, it can be overwhelming and hard to handle. For a lot of us, things are out of our control now. A little self-care can help us control what we can– which is our own wellbeing and feelings. If you are able to, try these ideas to care for yourself.
- Take 3 deep breaths
- Take a shower
- Massage your temples
- Make yourself a cup of tea
- Take a walk
- Garden- hang out with some plants
- Disconnect fromsocialmedia for a bit
- Cook something fun
- Clean and tidy up your space (I find it helps to see the result of our efforts and cleaning an area is very satisfying)
- Do some stretches
- Call a friend
- Watch an old movie + have some snacks
Choose one or a few (or all!) and put yourself at the top of the priority list.
Self-care is important and you are important.
